Adoremus in Aeternum
We will adore for eternity the most holy Sacrament.
Praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise Him all ye peoples.
Because his mercy is confirmed upon us:
and the truth of the Lord remains forever.
Adoremus...
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost:
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Adoremus...

"We will adore for eternity the most holy Sacrament". How appropriate is this hymn for Benediction, when we are all giving praise and adoration to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. This hymn is especially suited for such occasions of adoration and praise, who is deserving of all our love. It exalts and glorifies Him who should be glorified -- for He alone is God, and because He made us, redeemed us, keeps us in existence, and gives each one of us so many graces every day. In heaven we will see this same God, not in a dark and veiled manner, but "then face to face". We can then adore Him who we adored on earth, which is the hope we express by this hymn! If we will adore Jesus for eternity, then we must save our souls - therefore this hymn specializes in fostering sentiments of adoration and hope.
There are many melodies to this hymn, both Chant and modern. It is one of the more popular Gregorian Chant hymns.
